Introduction to the Series: War in the Heavens - Pauline Roscoe

Women of Glory
Every generation has faced its battles. Some were fought on the soil of nations, others in the streets of divided cities, and many within the hidden places of the heart. One of my sons once wrote to me from the battlefield, and his letters opened my eyes to a new reality of warfare, not just physical, but also spiritual.
This weekly blog series, War in the Heavens, is born out of those letters and my own reflections from Scripture. Together, we will explore the unseen battles that rage around us-conflicts that reach far beyond politics, land, and power. These are the wars of the soul; the ongoing struggle between good and evil, truth and deception, freedom and bondage.
The goal of this series is not to glorify warfare but to shed light on the spiritual battles we face daily and to equip you with Biblical wisdom and strength. Just as soldiers train and prepare for combat, we too must be aware, alert, and armed with God’s truth.
Join me each week as we uncover how the struggles of ancient Israel, the wars of history, and the spiritual battles of today all point to one reality: there is an enemy who seeks to destroy, but there is also a God who gives victory.
Historically, the Earth has had its share of wars. Whether it was civil wars between states or world wars between countries, the causes often seemed to be rooted in land, inheritance, or the desire for freedom from bondage. These calamities include slavery, hostile takeovers, tyranny, and unfair laws that foster injustice for underprivileged populations.
Biblically, we read about God’s chosen people who were constantly at war with pharaohs, kings, and rulers from different lands. Although their disobedience to God was the underlying reason for enslavement by their captors, the Israelites’ fight was for the causes that I mentioned above - land, inheritance, and freedom.
Now, from a spiritual perspective, the warfare appears to be similar. I would venture to say that spiritual conflict is actually where war began. I would also dare to argue that due to man’s sin, the earth is in a fallen condition today; therefore, all forms of evil exist. At this very moment, there is a war going on between God and Satan for our souls (land), our inheritance (eternal life with Him), and our freedom (Christ-given relationship).
This type of war cannot be seen with the human eye; nevertheless, it is a real entity. Do not be deceived by philosophy and traditions of men.
Don’t let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies, their wrong and shallow
answers built on men’s thoughts and ideas, instead of on what Christ has said (Col. 2:8).
Until my next writing, I pray that you will have a wonderfully blessed, victorious, and devil-stomping kind of day in Jesus!
